I don't know about you, but when I visit a website that has no pricing for their products, I usually just move on. It infuriates me. So, I have added this page to explain my pricing and the simple way I go about deciding cost.
The first thing I do is calculate how much the materials will cost, wood, hardware, and finishing products. I charge you what I pay for these items, there is no mark up here.
Second, I think about the skill work that will go into the piece. By skill work I mean the time and effort that it will take. A square table with 4 straight legs will take less time and skill than a trestle table with a curved undercarriage and through tenons.
Third, I set a price based on the time and skill plus the material cost.
It's very hard to tell an exact price unless it's something that I have already built and know the build process. Even then, the price of materials may have changed, but you can have a look at my ETSY page here to see items I sell there and the prices. These are items that I have made and know the prices based on current material price.
If you have any questions about pricing or anything else, please contact me and I'll be glad to answer them.
